About Miami Peels

With the many choices for professional treatments available today, it becomes increasingly important to understand the benefits of peel solutions and modalities in order to select which combinations to incorporate into your practice. There is a common misconception that if a little of something is good then more must be better. This is especially untrue when it comes to chemical peeling. More aggressive agents such as phenol peels, straight trichloroacetic (TCA) and glycolic acid treatments are all effective exfoliation methods however there are serious downsides that must also be taken into consideration. Phenol treatments are becoming less common because of potential side effects such as hypopigmentation, textural scarring, and prolonged skin sensitivity and redness. They are typically used as a last resort for severe skin discolorations as well as deep wrinkling. Straight trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peeling solutions often include many days of downtime due to a brown appearance of the skin, irritation and/or excessive, visible shedding of the deeper epidermal layers. The severity of both treatments may make them unsuitable for darker, more sensitive skin types. Glycolic acid is a widely used alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and is available in a variety of strengths. It has a much smaller molecule than other AHAs resulting in faster less uniform penetration which leads to inflammation, irritation, redness, and possible treatment reactions such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

In contrast to aggressive, single ingredient peels, chemical peels that are well-rounded blends of many complementary ingredients offer a broader spectrum of benefits to improve all skin types and conditions. The Miami Peel is the perfect, high-grade solution combining a variety of exfoliating acids, skin lightening tyrosinase inhibitors, and skin-strengthening agents. The Miami Peel provides maximum benefits with minimal discomfort and no downtime. When these ingredients are combined, they have a keratolytic effect on the surface of the skin while simultaneously helping to minimize fine lines and wrinkles as well as even out skin tone. The intensity and depth of penetration of the Miami Peel are controlled by applying multiple layers, depending on the needs and goals of the patient, and do not require any neutralization.

The Miami Peel addresses many issues due to its specific selection of ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acids (Lactic and citric acid) are water-soluble and work to loosen the bonds between impacted cells. Beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid) is oil soluble, giving it the ability to penetrate blocked follicles, clear debris, and localized hyperkeratosis, thereby reducing the incidence of breakouts. These combined ingredients reduce edema, erythema and burning sensations, making the Miami Peel appropriate for sensitive and ethnic skin types. The Miami Peel also addresses problems of hyperpigmentation resulting from sun damage or hormonal changes. The skin lightening tyrosinase inhibitors in the Miami Peel minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and also reduce pre-existing discoloration and hyper-pigmentation.

The Popular Choice

The Miami Peel has gained popularity because of its ability to effectively target multiple conditions simultaneously. It will help to soften and smooth the depth of fine, surface lines effectively around the orbital bone and the nasolabial fold.  The sebum regulating action of the Miami Peel makes it very effective in the treatment of breakout-prone skin.  The complexion is left with a glowing appearance, smoother texture, and a more even tone.
